Mission Statement
Cleveland Institute of Electronics (CIE) is a privately owned co-educational technical college located in Cleveland- Ohio.
The Institute has served an international student body since 1934. CIE's principal mission is educating individuals in technical skills through distance education- without regard to race- sex- handicap- creed- national origin- or age.
CIE prepares its students to become the skilled technicians and engineering technologists who will solve electronic engineering and computer technology problems. In order to accomplish these goals- the college offers four associate degrees and various diplomas and certificates in electronics and computer technology.
The CIE faculty- staff- and administration are committed to students who can substitute and/or enhance the traditional college classroom with independent study education. This method of instruction allows the individual student to obtain an education while maintaining family commitments and present employment or business activities.
Some of the unique students CIE serves include those in the military- those being rehabilitated- and those in areas of the world where the access to classroom education involves an inordinate amount of travel. CIE seeks to raise the level of productivity of our students- enhance their employment opportunities- and retrain those whose skills have become obsolete.
