Mission Statement

The Mission of the University of Saint Katherine is: To provide a balanced education in the liberal arts and sciences, founded and rooted in the life of the Orthodox Christian Tradition – Inquiry Seeking Wisdom.

ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY OF SAINT KATHERINE
The University of Saint Katherine (USK) is a university of arts and sciences, nationally recognized for its innovative and high-impact educational practices. We offer a distinctive set of four BA/BS degree programs with 19 concentrations, and are one of the few small liberal arts colleges to offer multiple degree programs in Natural Sciences. We also offer master’s degree programs in Organizational Leadership, Kinesiology, and Theology. The mission of USK is to provide a balanced education in the liberal arts and sciences, founded and rooted in the life of the historic Orthodox Christian tradition.

Located in the vibrant city of San Marcos, California, USK enjoys close proximity to downtown San Diego while maintaining a small college feel. Students can find cultural sites like museums, theaters, and other performing arts venues as well as surrounding nature from beaches, to mountains, to deserts nearby in San Diego and Los Angeles, allowing for a multitude of enrichment, internship, and research opportunities. Through small class sizes and a dedication to student success, we partner with students to realize their full, unique potential by actualizing their personal and professional goals. Outstanding teaching and research – with relevance to the practical world and Christian witness as guiding principles – is our primary aim.

USK is not-for-profit, WSCUC-accredited, independent, and coeducational. We welcome and admit students of all religious and faith backgrounds. All classes are taught by qualified faculty with substantial professional experience and the appropriate academic credentials.
