Mission StatementThe University of Nebraska at Omaha began as the University of Omaha- a private college established in 1908. In 1968- UNO became a state institution when the Municipal University of Omaha merged with the University of Nebraska. Located in the geographical center of Omaha- UNO is a major metropolitan university focused on students- academic excellence and engagement with the community. UNO serves a diverse population- including international students from 120 countries with comprehensive academic programs from baccalaureate through doctoral levels.
